ABOUT SINGLTN

SINGLTN is an American R&B singer, songwriter, model, and founder of the label RB4 Entertainment LLC. He is best known for his hit singles “Skin” and “Congratulations.”

Early life and education

SINGLTN was born and raised with his older sister in Brunswick, Georgia in a family of musicians. SINGLTN had a special relationship with his military father who instilled in him values of self-discipline, hard work, and respect for people of all walks of life. At the age of five he began his pubic singing with a solo performance at his church, launching a lifelong passion for being a performer. During his school years he prioritized refining his vocal abilities by hiring private teachers and furthering his musical education as well as joining numerous choirs and musical groups. He later graduated from Savannah State University where he obtained a degree in Vocal Performance.

Career

SINGLTN started shaping his public image as a professional performer by serving as a background vocalist for Josh Groban, Alicia Keys, John Mayer, and Jennifer Hudson. He describes these experiences as “a key pivot point” in his career. He appeared with Josh Groban on live performances for The Late Show with David Letterman, Good Morning America, and Live! with Regis and Kelly, and accompanied Alicia Keys and John Mayer on the song “No One” at the Foxwoods Resort Casino in Connecticut.

During his work in an off-Broadway play in New York, SINGLTN was noticed by Beyoncé’s choreographer and was invited to audition. He was cast in Beyoncé’s “Ladies First” tour as one of the professional performers in the role of a male pharaoh.

In 2019, SINGLTN was approached by an investment group that enabled him to continue his career as an independent recording artist and launch his label RB4 Entertainment LLC. After years of experience as a background vocalist, SINGLTN made his solo debut by releasing his first single “Congratulations.” Six months later, he released the seductive single “Skin” followed by “The Way (Remix).”

He has also released a number of cover tracks, including Stevie Wonder’s “I Never Dreamed You’d Leave in Summer,” Michael Jackson’s “Heal the World,” and John Lennon’s “Imagine.”

Influences

SINGLTN has cited Stevie Wonder, Daryl Coley, Michael Jackson, and John Legend as major musical inspirations to him. Among artists who he has been listening to most recently, SINGLTN named Beyoncé, Brian McKnight, Charlie Wilson, Adele, Ro James, Lizzo, and Billie Eilish. He shared that his music is influenced by his respect for women including his mother, grandmothers, aunts, and sister.

Modeling

The American artist Kehinde Wiley, who painted Barack Obama’s official White House portrait, selected SINGLTN as the subject of three of his monumental portraits of African American men. SINGLTN has also appeared in numerous commercial ad campaigns for foreign and American brands
